History

New North was established on October 18, 1996 at its founding convention in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. New North was incorporated in 1997 as the Saskatchewan Association of Northern Communities Services Inc.  (SANC Services Inc.) to provide services to Northern municipalities. In 2001, SANC Services Inc. changed its name to New North SANC Services Inc. The organization is set up in a diverse and large geographical region, and divides the authority equally among four sectors of northern Saskatchewan.
